StefanieStefanie Moreno, LCSW

    • Lead Therapist
    • Stefanie brings over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. She maintains a diverse background of professional experience from providing case management and counseling services for adolescent youth in group homes and independent living program to managing violence prevention and mentoring programs for children in the child welfare system. In addition, she most recently served as the Chief Program Officer of a nonprofit mental health organization and was their clinical lead providing supervision and crisis intervention for organizational clients; clinical supervision for staff; program development and implementation and served as the lead on special projects; and coordinated the community education and advocacy efforts. Her area of expertise is with children, adolescents and families. She earned her Bachelors of Social Work degree from James Madison University and a Master’s of Social Work degree from Catholic University of America. She maintains the LCSW license in Virginia and the LCSW-C license in Maryland.

AnwarAnwar D. Patterson, M.S., Ed.S., NCC

      • Anwar has worked in the mental health field for the past 7 years. He has experience with multiple populations and most enjoys his work with adolescents and their families. Anwar earned two bachelor degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Health Counseling from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He received his Master’s and Education Specialist degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Couples and Family Counseling respectively from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His professional interests include helping parents better communicate with their children and adolescents and improving the family system through strengthening family relationships.

AnwarFelicia Washington

      • Felicia brings to North Spring more than 14 years of experience working in the substance abuse and mental health field. She received her Bachelors of Social Work degree from Rutgers University and her Master of Professional Counseling degree from Grand Canyon University. Felicia completed her master level internship here at North Spring and is currently completing her residency to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. She has worked extensively in the areas of case management, individual, group, and family counseling with adults in the prison population and is committed to working with the child and adolescent population and their families. Felicia’s approach to counseling, in addition to utilizing CBT and MDT treatment modalities, is to provide active, non-judgmental, and empathetic listening, support clients to utilize their own innate wisdom, and empower clients to make meaningful changes to improve emotional well-being and overall health. Her professional interests include working with at risk youth for the treatment of depression and trauma.

darrenDarren Meyers

      • Darren Meyers has been working in the mental health field since 1987. He has worked in all levels of care with residents starting at Western State Hospital in Tacoma, Washington to Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Towson, MD. Darren has currently been an employee with the company since 2002 and plans on remaining here to help provide a high level of care to the families and residents we serve at North Spring’s Inpatient Acute Hospital.

ashleyAshley Logue

      • Milieu Supervisor
      • Ashley Logue has worked in the mental health field for nine years and has been employed by North Spring for over four years. Ashley graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Work. At North Spring she has worked with the older adolescent males and females, as well as the younger adolescent males. She was the Lead Mental Health Specialist on the Delta Unit and is currently the milieu supervisor at the inpatient acute hospital.

    • Christy Contreras received her Associates of Science in Business Administration in 2010. She then continued her education and graduated with Bachelor’s in Organizational Communication Studies from James Madison University. Christy joined the team in 2015 and is eager to utilize her communication skills to foster strong relationships that provide the quality resources that children and adolescents in the community need.

Ashlyn Gray

    • Admissions Coordinator
    • Ashlyn Gray received her Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree from Salisbury University and went on to receive her Master’s of Social Work Degree at Salisbury University. During this time, Ashlyn worked in multiple outpatient and school-based therapeutic settings where she counseled adults, children, and adolescents with a variety of mental health diagnoses. In addition, Ashlyn volunteered at a therapeutic horse riding farm for children and adults with developmental disabilities. She is very passionate about the mental health field and helping youth achieve a higher level of social, emotional, and cognitive functioning.

Brooke Peters

    • Brooke PicAdmissions Coordinator
    • Brooke received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis in psychology and a minor in biology. She went on to earn her Master of Arts Degree from the Pennsylvania State University in Applied Clinical Psychology. Brooke has been providing mental health services to children, teens, and their families for four years. This includes acute hospitalization, intensive in-home therapy services, and school-based behavioral management. Brooke’s professional interests include providing psychological assessments and the treatment of anxiety, PTSD, depression, and other mood disorders using cognitive behavioral interventions.

 

Kara Mueller, RN

    • Kara Mueller, RNAdmissions Coordinator
    • Kara received her nursing degree from Frederick Community College and a BS from North Carolina State University. Prior to coming to North Spring, Kara worked from Loudoun County Public Schools, VA and Frederick County Public Schools, MD, with school aged children with a variety of mental health and behavioral issues. She is passionate about education, community outreach, substance abuse treatment and teaching people to use artistic expression as a therapeutic tool.
