Recreational Therapy

It reduces or eliminates limitations caused by an illness or disabling condition and helps individals be able to participate in life situations.
What does this mean for the residents at North Spring Behavioral Healthcare?
It means that all residents have the opportunity to participate in activities that will improve their cognitive, social, physical and emotional abilities. The Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at North Spring utilizes research-based activities rich in teambuilding, problem-solving, decision making, trust, communication, cooperation and respect to assist residents in developing the skills, knowledge and behaviors necessary for daily living and community involvement. Additional group activities include leisure education and community-based activities.
