Family Engagement

Family Engagement

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is honored that you have chosen us to work with your family during your child’s treatment. We recognize that family engagement in a child’s treatment is critical, and that treatment outcomes improve when families are involved throughout their child’s care. During your child’s referral process, treatment, and discharge we want to be intimately involved. Please feel free to reach out to our Admissions Team or your child’s Therapist, Case Manager, or Unit Coordinator regarding:

  • Your reasoning for choosing our facility to treat your child
  • Your family’s interests, likes, dislikes, and cultural identification
  • What treatment modalities have been helpful or hurtful in the past
  • Obstacles to your family’s involvement in the treatment process
  • Cultural or linguistic treatment preferences
  • Your child’s strengths
  • Questions about the facility’s ancillary treatment services (nutrition, exercise, education, social activities, etc.)
  • Stakeholders in your child’s wellbeing from outside of the family
  • The clinical modality being used in your child’s treatment and the strategies contained therein
  • Your family’s discharge goals and discharge criteria
  • Home and community re-entry strategies for your child
  • And any other questions about your child’s treatment

Family Engagement also extends to activities that your family can participate in during day/overnight facility passes. Our admissions and residential teams have a list of recommended activities in the Leesburg area.
